THEODORE BAKER, ESQ.

Ted is a shareholder who concentrates his practice on the representation of individuals in all matters involving the Division of Youth and Family Services.  These matters include abuse and neglect litigation and termination of parental rights litigation.  Ted also provides representation in administrative hearings concerning all manner of DYFS matters including DYFS findings of abuse and neglect, foster parent licensing, and foster parent payment matters.  Ted also focuses on adoption, be it private adoptions, family adoptions, or same-sex couple adoptions.  Finally, Ted’s practice focuses on defense in juvenile delinquency matters and municipal court defense.

Prior to founding Afonso Baker & Sams, P.C., Ted served as a Deputy Attorney General for the State of New Jersey where he represented the Division of Youth and Family Services.  While at the Attorney General’s Office, he received several awards recognizing his exceptional performance.  Ted received his Bachelor of Arts from St. Joseph’s University in 1996 and his Juris Doctor from Seton Hall University School of Law in 1999.  Thereafter he clerked for Joseph M. Nardi, J.S.C. in Camden County.  He is a member of the Camden County Bar Association and has appeared on the television program “Legal Line.”
